Casa Stella is an inviting 4 bedroom villa sleeping 8-9 persons. Three bedrooms are situated within the villa itself plus a large completely separate annexed loft type bedroom that sleeps another 2 persons great for teenagers wanting privacy in the annexed part of the villa grounds and garden area.

Casa Stella is located in the peaceful village of (Ano) Vouves in western Crete. The villa has commanding views of the rolling hills and down towards the Gulf of Chania and is only 200mt from a local landmark the famous olive tree of Vouves which is reckoned to be one of the oldest in the world, estimated at 3000 years old.

Vouves sits in the verdant hills just a few kilometres inland from the coast road from where within a short drive there is a choice of resorts which vary from quiet to the hub of hustle and bustle, and beaches that vary from sandy to pebbly/stony.

CASA STELLA LOCATION

On the coast road to the east the busy resort of Platanias is 15km away where youll find many tavernas and shops, a lively atmosphere, and bustling nightlife. Quieter Maleme is only 9km away and has a well-organized tourism infrastructure but still there are several bars and restaurants, especially by the sea where you can have a lunch after a swim, or enjoy dinner watching the beautiful sunset.

There is also a pharmacy, a supermarket and a mini market, a bakery, a butcher and a souvenir shop, so basic needs are covered by a few shops. Tavronitis is 7km away and here youll find a couple of supermarkets, tavernas, café bars, and a pebbly/stony beach. Kolymbari is 12km to the west and here you'll find a tranquil local fishing village with a small picturesque harbour and good local fish restaurants, a nice café, as well as a bank, a chemist, and a handful of local shops, as well asa pebbly beach which is about a kilometre long.Localsare very proud of the fact that it was awarded the Blue Flag. Beaches along the north-west coast are sandy from Chania as far as Platanias from where the sand starts to get coarser with pebbles/stones as you go further west as far as Kolymbari.

Chania, the capital city of the region, is a drive of just over half an hour and is definitely a must visit. The atmosphere of Chania is vibrant and cosmopolitan, and it is an absolute delight to stroll around the Venetian harbour with its charming, characteristic narrow streets where youll find an abundance of tavernas, cafes, bars and shops.The area is also an excellent starting point for further exploration of western Crete whether your interest be archaeological, walking, driving, or simply relaxing and enjoying some of the wonderful beaches of western Crete. The fabulous beaches of Falassarna, Elafonissi and the lagoon of Balos (boat from Kastelli) are all accessible by car.

CASA STELLA ACCOMMODATION

Through the drive in front of the house is a large garden with trees, shrubs and plants and the villa sits in a commanding position with superb views. There is central heating throughout and each room has either a standing fan and/or a ceiling fan.

The ground floor has an open plan kitchen/living/dining area as well as a WC. The fully equipped kitchen has a coffee machine, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, 4 cooking rings (gas), microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, iron & ironing board, and utensils.

The dining area seats 6, and this leads into the living area which has 2 sofas, a coffee table, 2 easy chairs, a fireplace, hammock, bookcase, stool, relax chair, TV, DVD player, and a Hi-Fi stereo unit. Doors open on to a large veranda which is partly covered and has impressive views down towards the Gulf of Chania. It is furnished with a dining table & chairs for 8 persons, a couple of hammocks, and various seating options.

Stairs lead from the living area to the upper floor to a bedroom with a double bed and another with twin beds, as well as a bathroom with a bath with a hand held shower. Doors open on to a wonderful covered furnished terrace with fabulous views. Stairs lead from the passageway to a third open plan loft bedroom with twin beds, and a wooden beamed ceiling, a table and a chair, and a door open on to a fabulous private furnished veranda.

Behind the villa is a building with an open kitchen area with a wood burning oven and BBQ, and also a bathroom with a shower behind. Another covered space houses table-tennis and a darts board.

Steps leads down to the superb 60sqm pool with walk-in steps with a Jacuzzi as well as gym runner. Superb views are to be had from the pool sun terrace which is partly tiled and partly covered wooden decking. It is furnished with an outdoor lounge sofa, sunbeds & umbrellas, sun chairs and a relax chair, and there is also a shower by the pool.

Smoking indoors is not allowed. Pets are allowed (on request)
