GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Ancient Olympia was the place to host the Olympic Games in the classical times, and even today remains the official site, where the lighting of the flame of the Olympic Games takes place every four years. A magical place filled with the energy of all the athletes and spectators over the centuries, Olympia is also known for the gigantic ivory and gold statue of Zeus that used to stand there, named one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
